Elementor makes WordPress layout visual, but the best results still come from understanding structure. Start with a clear page hierarchy, then use widgets to fill that structure with content.
The basic vocabulary
- Containers define layout and spacing.
- Widgets provide content such as headings, images, buttons, forms, and posts.
- Global settings establish fonts, colors, and site-wide defaults.
- Templates turn a design into a reusable header, footer, archive, or single template.
Build a page in five passes
- Sketch the content hierarchy before opening the editor.
- Add containers and set direction, width, gap, and alignment.
- Add content widgets with real copy rather than placeholder text.
- Check tablet and mobile breakpoints and remove accidental fixed widths.
- Test the page with the editor closed so you notice real spacing, loading, and keyboard behavior.
Keep the design system centralized
Set global typography and colors before styling individual buttons. This makes a later brand change a token update instead of a page-by-page cleanup.
